A large garden for playing and exploring
A variety of learning and play areas
After-School Care for Preschoolers
Name and organisation in charge change —The team remains the same
The current familea Zauberstei daycare center and its staff will transfer to the new operator, profawo, effective January 1, 2027.
Located in the Sisslerfeld neighborhood of Stein, the daycare center offers bright, spacious, child-friendly facilities with a huge garden for playing, exploring, discovering, and spending time together. The building was specifically designed as a daycare center, ensuring that the needs and interests of both children and adults are perfectly accommodated, with the child and their well-being at the center of everything. The daycare team places great importance on the children’s participation and involves them in both daily tasks and the organization of daily life. Through needs-based and age-appropriate activities, the educational staff create an age-appropriate learning environment for the children on an equal footing and offer them plenty of space for independence as well as for curiously discovering and exploring the world.
What Your Child Experiences in Our Day-to-Day Life
-
Family- and professional-oriented 3-group daycare center, including preschool care
The children are divided into three mixed-age groups, where they receive individualized support as they develop. Children can enroll starting at 4 months of age and may remain with us until they graduate from kindergarten. We provide supervision for the trip to and from the kindergarten in Stein AG.
-
Needs-Based Play Activities in Versatile Learning Environments
For about 90 minutes each day, the children explore our diverse learning spaces: Exploration and discovery, creativity and design, role-playing, building and constructing, music and rhythm, movement, language, and the toddler area offer a variety of age-appropriate educational activities every day, which your child can choose independently based on their interests. During time in the learning spaces, children play and explore across groups and often in age groups. The team provides attentive, developmentally focused guidance throughout these activities.
-
A wide variety of opportunities for physical activity and exploration in the garden and in nature
The large garden offers the children plenty of space to play and explore and encourages them to be active. Every day, the children play outside in the garden and explore their surroundings on walks and in nature.
-
Development-Oriented Support Using Portfolios
We observe, support, and encourage the children in their development. We document important developmental milestones and your child’s current needs, and use this information to determine the next appropriate activities. In their portfolio, we collect experiences and observations, which the children can then proudly take home with them when they leave the daycare center. The team follows the “Education and Learning Stories” (BULG) methodology.
-
Healthy meals in a warm and welcoming atmosphere
The children choose and serve themselves from a wide, healthy, and varied selection of meals, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables every day. The staff supports and guides all children in an age-appropriate manner, helping them develop independence and a sense of autonomy.

-
How far in advance should I reserve a spot?
It's always a good idea to start looking for a daycare spot about 6 months before your child is due to start. The later you plan, the less certain it is that the desired daycare days will still be available.
-
Can a child continue to receive childcare at the daycare center even while attending kindergarten?
Yes, we care for children until the end of their preschool year if they live in Stein AG. We pick up the children for lunch and bring them back if they have afternoon classes. This makes the transition to kindergarten much easier for many children, because amid all the new experiences at kindergarten, they appreciate the familiarity with the caregivers and the environment at the daycare center, where they have long felt safe and secure.
-
What do I do, if my child gets sick?
Care for a sick child is not possible at the daycare center. Parents are asked not to bring their child to the daycare center, if they have a fever or a contagious illness. If a child becomes ill while at the crèche, the parents will be notified immediately so they can pick up their child.
Simply use the parent app to report that your child is sick for the day.
